THE BAND

IAN

// guitars and keys

 

Ian is a founding member of Usquebaugh and has been playing music for as long as he can remember. Over the years he has toured and recorded with some of the folk scenes premier artists including Scotland's top piper Gordon Duncan and the Electropathics Ceilidh band. More recently he has been involved with musical theatre around the North West of England both playing regularly in pit bands and as Musical Director, a recent high spot being leading the band at the Lowry Theatre in Salford.

SARAH

Sarah, along with her husband Ian have been involved with Usquebaugh for many years. Leading the band on the accordion, Sarah also plays the flute joining the band during the incidental music between dances.

CAITLIN

// fiddle

 

Caitlin has been a member of Usquebaugh since she was a child. Caitlin gained her honours degree in Music from the University of Manchester and now works as a Strings Teacher across Cheshire West. Caitlin frequently performs in many orchestras, notably performing in the Manchester leg of Gruff Rhys' Babelsberg Tour. Outside of the Ceilidh band Caitlin runs a Youth Theatre and frequently plays in many pit bands for musicals as well as Musically Directing alongside her Dad, Ian.

ALEX

Alex is the newest member of Usquebaugh and has enjoyed learning and playing all the traditional folk songs the band plays.

Alex is a Data Analyst and has been playing the bass guitar in various bands and musical groups since aged 13.

He is currently a member of indie band The Racketeers and also plays in the pit band for Mid Cheshire Musical Theatre Company.

Usquebaugh Ceilidh Band are based in Northwich, Cheshire and cover Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester. The band are made up of husband and wife Sarah and Ian, their daughter Caitlin and her soon to be husband Alex as well as their very good friend Ian.
